Natalie & Jacob

December 13, 2016

I am so excited to share Natalie and Jacob’s wedding with you! The couple first met years ago while working at Graham Elliott Bistro together, but now they are both chefs at different Chicago restaurants—Natalie is the Pastry Sous Chef at Grace and Jacob is Chef de Cuisine at The Publican. I had gotten to know Natalie from photographing events at Grace over the past few years, and I was thrilled when she reached out to me about capturing their big day. Based on the couple’s amazing (and seriously delicious) work in the kitchen, I knew that their creativity and attention to detail would make for an absolutely beautiful wedding.

But, what got me the most excited about photographing Natalie and Jacob’s wedding was how much I enjoyed getting to know them as a couple. During their engagement session, they were incredibly light-hearted and Jacob constantly had Natalie laughing, which made my job easy. Everything seemed so natural and comfortable between them, and it was clear that they are a perfect match.

That said, I had SO much fun photographing their wedding (and not just because they gave me moonshine in the limo and let me dance my face off at the reception). Natalie and Jacob were incredible and every little detail came together beautifully, from the invitations, to the rustic fall bouquets and the intimate reception at Gallery 1028. It truly was a perfect day and, Natalie and Jacob, I am so happy for you both!
